Cake Talk by Koki Kakiichi

Cosmography, the art of map-making, plays a pivotal role in advancing our understanding of the Universe. In this talk, I introduce a novel technique for reconstructing the large-scale structure of the intergalactic medium (IGM) using ultra-deep HSC narrow-band imaging with Subaru. This technique enables us to map the IGM from redshift 4 to 6, covering a 100 Mpc region of the sky, allowing for the direct visualization of interactions between early galaxies and the IGM. I discuss the applications of IGM tomography to better understand the reionization process and explore how we can incorporate a range of wide-field surveys, including COSMOS-Web and Euclid, to gain further insights.
